Meet the Creator
Hi, I’m Nitin Chauhan — currently navigating that awkward space of my late twenties and early thirties.
As a gay man who experienced all the emotional and societal ups and downs of growing up as a Millennial in India, I made the bold decision to pack up my life and move to the United Kingdom in 2023… mostly assuming it would make my life significantly worse.
Plot twist: life actually got a whole lot better after settling in Oxford.
Why Unfiltered Millennials?
I know there are so many of us out there who are looking to connect with a group of like-minded people — and strictly only Millennials. Because honestly, who among us wants to attempt grooving like Gen-Z, aesthetically vibing at a satsang? Lol, absolutely not.
This space is for us: the generation that remembers life before smartphones, survived the chaotic transition into adulthood, and refuses to let anyone label us as “outdated.” Welcome to the club.
What we actually write about
Unfiltered Millennials is a UK-based blog for the generation that grew up on MSN Messenger and now pays a mortgage on a converted terrace. We cover seven aisles of the Millennial condition:
- Nostalgia — the games, snacks, gadgets and shows of a pre-algorithm childhood.
- Pop Culture — the music, TV, films and internet moments Millennials still argue about.
- Career & Work Life — hybrid work, layoffs, side hustles and the death of the office biscuit tin.
- Money & Adulting — rent, houses we can’t afford, ISAs and grown-up money in plain English.
- Trending Now — commentary on whatever the internet and group chats can’t shut up about.
- Wellness & Burnout — mental load, screens, sleep and staying human in a chronically online decade.
- Tech & Internet Culture — from dial-up to AI and every cursed platform in between.
Why “unfiltered”
Because we’re tired of every take being softened for the algorithm. You’ll get honest opinions, occasional bad jokes, my Oxford perspective from the ground up, and zero attempts to pretend adulthood came with instructions. If we’re wrong, we’ll say it. If we love something you also loved, we’ll say that too — probably in caps.
